I found out today that the world is a lesser place following the loss of such a vibrant and wonderful person as Carrie. My most heartfelt to condolences to Jim and Ashley on the loss of their wife and mother, and to Carrie's family. Carrie and I worked together occasionally during long exercise hours at Ramstein in the early 2000s, and I cannot remember a time when her cheerfulness and smile didn't help make the time pass more quickly; her professionalism always made the work seem easier.
God Bless you all, and I'm sure that Carrie's smile continues to shine down on you from Above.

I met Carrie at the base gym in January 2007. We instantly connected because Lucas and my daughter were just a month apart. We were only in Little Rock for four months, but I loved working out with Carrie and going over to her house to scrapbook. Carrie always loved working on her scrapbooks. She wanted all of her friends to take care of their families photos and stories, just like she was doing. I hope you all are finding great comfort in the precious albums she created. I just recently found out about this tragedy because I am in Texas now. I was so shaken by the news. Carrie and Lucas were both so full of life. I was blessed to have met them. Praying God's peace over you....

I cannot adequately express my deepest sympathies and condolences for the loss of Carrie and Lucas. Seeing the photographs and comments posted here has brought back fantastic memories of Carrie in the Prep School. She was one of my first friends that year and I will always remember her energetic and generous nature. I lost touch after '92, but always wondered how her life turned out. Ironically, I drove through Colorado Springs in late December and recalled visits to the Loudermilk residence and Carrie. This tragic news made me realize that those memories will never erode, as I will always have a place in my heart for her. --Scott Deitle, USAFA Prep '92

I only had the privelage of knowing Carrie and Lucas for a short time while we were in Little Rock for 8 months in 2005 shortly the birth of Lucas. Paul, was going through training and we were in TLF with our 2 young children close to Lucas and Ashley's ages. Although our husbands had once worked together in Germany we'd never met. She immediately introduced me to her wonderful friends, helped me get Abigail enrolled in Sylvan Hills, included me in playdates, had us over for dinner... I could go on and on. I realized then that I'd found a friend I'd always treasure. Carrie was one of the most genuine people I've ever met. She was an amazing friend, wife, mother and I'm a better person to have a known her. I value the time I knew Carrie and her beautiful Lucas. As a family we're praying for Jim and Ashley, you'll forever be in our thoughts.

Dear Jim,

Beth and Patrick Baughen informed us of your tragic loss. We were neighbors of yours in Burlington Twp, NJ (the Bridle Club). We remember Carrie always had a smile on her face and would stop to talk to us every time we saw her. What a sincere person she was. We express our deepest sympathy to you, your daughter Ashley, as well as to Carrie’s family. Take care of yourselves. You are in our hearts and prayers. God Bless and hang in there.

Sincerely,
Dan, Zulma & Daniel Rodriguez

My thoughts and prayers are with the Pederson family. I was a teammate of Carrie's at the Air Force Academy. Carrie was a senior when I was a freshman. I still remember her refreshing smile and "everything will be okay" encouragement while I was going through my freshman year. I can not think of a kinder person. Rest in peace my friend, comrade, and teammate.
